Hartfield, VA / San Clemente, CA – Thursday, February 11, 2016 // The Board of the IVD Industry Connectivity Consortium (IICC) nominated and elected Serge Jonnaert as its President, effective Feb 10, 2016. Serge Jonnaert previously served as the Chief Marketing Officer, where he was responsible for all communications and events, while also staying deeply involved in the standards and technology issues.
Eric Olson, Vice President of Disruptive Diagnostics at Siemens Healthcare GmbH, retires from IICC after co-founding the consortium in 2008, serving as Chief Technology Officer 2008-2010, and serving as President 2010-2016. “I am very proud of all we accomplished to bring about modernization in the clinical diagnostics industry. We overcame a tremendous amount of inertia to develop a modern standard, build excitement in the laboratory community, and convince nearly all of the top manufacturers to implement the standard in their products. I look forward to watching as these products reach the market and realize the industry productivity gains we envisioned long ago.” said Eric. Outgoing President Eric Olson also vacates his board seat.
Serge Jonnaert expressed his gratitude to Eric for being the driving force and for his immeasurable contribution as President of the IICC. “Under Eric’s stewardship we not only developed a contemporary standard that will have a tremendous impact in the IVD space, he also brought key industry representatives to the table to work together in a manner that will remain a model for future initiatives.” Jonnaert added.
Serge Jonnaert has more than twenty five years of involvement in technology innovation and marketing, as well as standards development. He is currently a Managing Partner at Tensei LLC (www.tensei.com), a consulting firm that assist executives and product marketing teams as an external resource for complex technology and interoperability projects, primarily in IVD and Healthcare IT.
IIICC’s Board of Directors also welcomes two new members, Jeff Raponi, Senior Manager Global Product Marketing at Beckman Coulter and Jyh-Ching Yaur, VP, Engineering, Automation and Informatics at Siemens Healthcare. They replace Jean-Claude Lugeon from Roche Diagnostics and Carl Murray from Beckman Coulter, effective February 6, 2016. Outgoing President Eric Olson also expressed his gratitude to the outgoing board members for their contribution to the success of the IICC.

About the IVD Industry Connectivity Consortium
The IVD Industry Connectivity Consortium – IICC (www.ivdconnectivity.org) is a global, nonprofit organization that has worked with several standards organizations to develop a new interoperability framework that provides plug-n-play connectivity between instruments, middleware, and LIS systems in the laboratory.
The resulting IICC standard is documented in the IHE Laboratory Analytical Workflow (LAW) profile. It was recently selected by the European Union to be part of the eHealth European Interoperability Framework (eEIF) and will be the basis for the upcoming Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI) AUTO16 standard for next generation In Vitro Diagnostic (IVD) instrument interfaces.
IICC members include Abbott Diagnostics, Beckman Coulter, Becton Dickinson, bioMérieux, Data Innovations, Orchard Software, Ortho Clinical Diagnostics, Roche Diagnostics, Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics, and Systelab Technologies, S.A.
